Ohio Valley Breast Center has been Designated an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

May 29, 2019 (Springfield, Ohio) — Ohio Valley Breast Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).

Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that this facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.

According to Steve Eisentrager, President of Ohio Valley, this accreditation represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding, and improving the delivery of care. “It is an honor to be recognized by the ACR who have designated us as a center of excellence. This recognition is a true testament to the outstanding care and commitment our staff gives to make sure that each of our patients receives the best experience possible.”

Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital, a physician-owned hospital, was established in 2009 and provides an award-winning care experience for elective surgical procedures and medical care. Ohio Valley recently announced a partnership with Dayton-based Premier Health and Columbus-based OhioHealth as part of an ongoing commitment to expand access to care and keep care local in Clark County. OVSH offers in-patient and out-patient surgical procedures, as well as affiliated services including imaging, 3D mammography, physical and hand therapy, primary care, sports performance improvement, colonoscopy screening and other wellness programs.
