New Patient Story

I had spinal decompression surgery at Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital on June 7, 2024. I had some anxiety pre-op. There were many first-time experiences for me. This was my first time being intubated, my first time with a Foley catheter, and my first time staying overnight after a procedure. I am happy to report that everything went very well. I received excellent care throughout.
I would like to thank my caregivers, although I do so at the risk of leaving out someone. Jessica signed me in. Gayla registered me. Cindy and Amy took care of me pre-op. So did Becky. She started my I.V. painlessly and reduced my pre-op anxiety. Annette took care of my in the operating room. I was unconscious, but I'm sure that everything went well there. The other Amy took care of me in recovery. Then Stephanne, Ashley, Erica, and Sarah took care of me on the floor post-op. My physical therapist was Nicole.
Now I am doing great. My radicular pain is gone. I am back to running, bicycling, lifting weights, and doing chores around the house that I was unable to do pre-op.
Thank-you, Everyone.
